The community service work of The Amherst Club focuses on local needs. Monies raised go to worthy organizations which seek funds for specific projects, and whose applications for funds have been approved by the Club. From its founding through 2013, the Club has given more than $343,000 to such groups. The Amherst Club holds a major philanthropic fundraiser each year. In recent years, this event has been Love Notes, a program of entertainment followed by a gala reception.
